Constitution of Cats for Christ
Article I. Name of Organization: The name of this organization shall be Cats for Christ (here after C4C).

Article II. Purpose of the Organization:
-
Section 1. Encourage the spiritual growth of the individuals’ relationships with God based on Biblical principles.
Section 2. Promote fellowship among members of C4C.
Section 3. Provide service for C4C members, Church of Christ members, Kansas State University, and the Manhattan community.
Section 4. Promote Christian outreach to Kansas State University.

Article III. Membership in the Organization:

Section 1. Membership shall be at least 50% students currently enrolled at Kansas State University.

Article IV. Officers of the Organization:
-
Section 1. The officers shall be: President, Vice-President, and Secretary/Treasurer.
Section 2. Duties of the officers:

(a) President
-
(i) Coordinate retreats with apprentices
(ii) Chair leadership lunches
(iii) Liaison with Kansas State University
(iv) Attend weekly staff (and leadership) meetings
(v) Coordinate church visits
-
(b) Vice-President
-
(i) Fulfill the duties of the president in absence
(ii) Coordinate with team leaders
(iii) Attend leadership meetings
(iv) Coordinate the Homecoming Reunion
-
(c) Secretary/Treasurer
-
(i) Take minutes as needed
(ii) Collect registration fees for all special events
(iii) Attend leadership meetings
(iv) Coordinate support for Compassion Child
Section 3. Appointment of Officers
-
(a) Officers shall be appointed prior to the completion of the spring semester.
(b) Candidates will apply for offices in written form.

(i) Applications shall be turned in to the outgoing president by a deadline announced at least two weeks in advance.
(ii) Applicants must have been involved in Cats for Christ for a full academic year at the time they take up the office.

(c) Appointments will be made by the executive committee.
Section 4. Officers’ term shall be for 1 year starting in June.

(a) The campus minister and/or executive committee may remove officers from their position for actions detrimental to the goals and reputation of Cats for Christ.
Section 5. The Executive Committee shall be composed of officers, team leaders, campus ministers, apprentices, and the faculty advisor.

Article V. Ministry Teams of the Organization:

Section 1. The Ministry Teams shall be: Spiritual Growth, Fellowship, Service and Outreach.

(a) Members will be allowed to sign up for the ministry team of their choice at the beginning of each semester.
(b) Signing up for a ministry team shall not be required.
Section 2. Appointed C4C members shall serve as Team Leaders.

(a) The officers, campus minister, apprentices, and the faculty advisor shall fill the appointed positions.
(b) Team Leaders will serve for a term of one academic year unless otherwise arranged.
(c) The campus minister and/or executive committee may remove Team Leaders from their position for actions detrimental to the goals and reputation of Cats for Christ.

Article VI. Advisor of Organization:

Section 1. The Faculty Advisor shall be selected by the Executive Committee. The Advisor must be a faculty member of Kansas State University.

Article VII. Meeting of Organization:
-
Section 1. Meeting of the entire membership shall be held as needed during Wednesday evening devotionals or Sunday night services.
Section 2. The officers, team leader, campus minister, faculty advisor, and apprentices/interns will meet each semester to review the status of C4C. This may take place during a regular leadership meeting.

Article VIII. Finances of Organization:

Section 1. The Manhattan Church of Christ sponsors C4C.

Article IX. Amendments:
-
Section 1. Can be made by any member at any meeting to be voted on in a future meeting.
Section 2. Must be made in writing.
Matt Carter is campus minister of Cats for Christ, Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, and a member of the CCW board. Matt graduated from the University of Georgia (Bachelor of Music) and Harding University Graduate School of Religion (Master of Divinity).
