First, I want to thank our outgoing Campus CrossWalk president, Jim Brinkerhoff, campus minister at Auburn, for his ten years of outstanding
leadership! Jim presided over our transition to our own website as of April 1, 2004 (our first edition received approximately 30,000 page views). In addition, Jim’s guidance of the National Campus Ministries Seminar directors has blessed us with many great events and record attendance at NCMS in the last decade. Thanks again Jim (you are always welcome at future CCW board meetings)!
As the new CCW president, I have asked the board members to submit their “top three” priorities for CCW to me. The results of the survey have been returned to the board members and they are working on our “top” goals and objectives in order to make a presentation at our campus ministers “fellowship” luncheon / business meeting at NCMS on Friday, July 30 at 12:15 p.m. Each board member will be making a brief report to the campus ministers on their areas of responsibility. We aim to offer more support for your efforts as campus ministers and promote involvement on behalf of CCW. The areas of responsibility accepted by each board members are geared to address our top priorities for Campus Crosswalk as seen by the board’s survey conducted in April, 2004.
The new board members and their respective areas of responsibility are:
- Dean Barham, Texas Tech University. Promotion and public relations for CCW.
- Matt Carter, Kansas State University. Treasurer for CCW (additional responsibilities pending).
- Tim Melikian, Oklahoma University. Helping start or strengthening campus ministries--including college programs in future church plantings.
- Todd Stancil, University of Alabama. Columnist and coordinator for a new CCW section entitled “News and Briefs” which will update readers on happenings in our campus ministries nationwide.
Returning board members and their leadership roles for CCW:
- Mike Buckley, University of Tennessee. Campus minister placement service and NCMS banquet awards.
- Brian Cobb, Manhattan KS. Church of Christ. Webmaster for CCW.
- Milton Jones, Northwest WA. Church of Christ. Senior editor CCW.
- Joel Solliday, Brooklyn Center MN. Church of Christ. Editor CCW.
